The Portal (Short Story)

Once upon a time, there was a man named John who lived a relatively ordinary life. One day, while out for a walk, he stumbled upon a strange portal hidden behind a group of bushes. Without thinking too much about it, John stepped through the portal and found himself transported to an alternative universe.

As he looked around, he saw that everything in this new world seemed familiar, yet different at the same time. The people he saw all looked the same, with the same dark hair and brown eyes, and they all seemed to be dressed in the same clothes.

As he walked through the streets, John couldn’t help but notice that the people in this world all seemed to act in the same way. They walked at the same pace, talked in the same tone of voice, and seemed to have the same interests.

John found it all quite strange and unsettling, and he couldn’t help but wonder why everyone in this world was so uniform. He decided to try and find out more about this mysterious universe, and began asking the people he met for information.
